If you are looking to install a new built-in audio system or upgrade your existing sound system, you are probably comparing many different options for multi-room audio. Traditional systems can be bulky, complicated, and expensive. The same can hold true for modern systems, with a number of options on the market that require extra components for every room of audio or whole-home solutions that might only allow for one user to control their audio at a time. Juke Audio offers a smarter, more affordable alternative in the form of a single component that can power speakers in up to 8 independent areas and give users the ability to play their favorite audio sources however they please.
When exploring various products in the market, you will see the ability to stack individual 2-channel amplifiers per room or use consolidated multi-channel audio amplifiers like Juke. Please see the below two sections detailing the various options in both of those scenarios and how they compare to our offering at Juke.
Juke vs Stacking Single Zone Amplifiers
There are a number of single zone amplifiers in the market that work well for small applications but when it comes to looking to do an entire house or decent size commercial space, stacking many of those amplifiers becomes very expensive and cumbersome. You’ll need an individual power cable (and likely ethernet cable) for every single amplifier as well as a ventilated space large enough to stack these units.
In comparison, our solution at Juke serves an all-in-one piece for up to 8 areas. Sitting at the size of just a textbook, all Juke amplifiers are slim in design and can be rack-mounted into any standard AV equipment rack. Additionally, with all of the speakers wired to a single amplifier, the Juke solution is far less strenuous on the network and also not susceptible to latency issues between zones like customers are when using individual amps.
One of the main reasons someone might still elect to go for stacking 2-channel amplifiers would be the additional power output it can provide which is understandable in certain scenarios but not always necessary. If you are looking for a good sounding background music, the amplification output on our base model units (Juke 6 & Juke 8) can certainly provide that. And if you are looking for a higher-end audio experience in terms of sound quality / power output, the Juke+ can certainly serve that purpose for you with a boosted wattage that is uniquely powerful for a unit covering the number of zones and speakers that a single amplifier model supports.

Juke vs Other Multi-Channel Amplifiers
For the reasons mentioned above, consolidating your setup with multi-channel amplifiers has many benefits over individual amplifiers per room. That being said, the majority of multi-channel amplifiers on the market are absent of the built-in music streaming and wireless app capabilities that modern users are seeking and require a streamer to be connected into them to achieve that functionality. Thankfully that is not the case with Juke Audio as our product was born in the streaming era with an emphasis on seamless control of the system from any phone/tablet anywhere in the home / commercial space all over the Wi-Fi. Whether you're entertaining outside, eating in the kitchen, or winding down in the bedroom, Juke makes it easy to enjoy music anywhere.
There are a few alternatives in the market that do offer multi-room amplification with wireless functionality like ours but the price points of those options is significantly greater than our offering without an increase in performance or functionality.
The Juke amplifiers offer users the ability to stream their music without having to open our app at all given how we have uniquely implemented multi-source Airplay 2 and Spotify Connect functionality that allows users to play to their desired rooms right from their favorite apps such as Apple Music and Spotify. And while VSSL also supports this option, we also offer customers the ability to now stream directly from within the Juke app via Tidal, TuneIn, and Pandora with more services to come. This is a nice benefit for those who want to stream music from the amplifier itself and not be only reliant on sending audio from a phone/tablet.
